Dec 30, 2009 I am trying to connect my Boss DR-880 drum machine via MIDI to Ableton Live 8 (or Pro Tools, Sonar, Reason) and am unable to get the sound from the drum machine on the computer. I am, however, picking up a signal and getting the MIDI messages (which I can later apply effects due via the virtual synthesizers) but cannot get the preset kits from the d.m thru the computer speakers. If you're not doing that, and only trying to perform backups or load SMF files, then drivers do not need to be installed. Note: For Windows 10, the driver is installed automatically once you connect the DR-880 to the computer and power it on. Be sure to change the USB Mode in the DR-880 to 'MIDI.' (Should not be set to 'STORAGE'). Jan 19, 2007 Boss DR-880 Sign in to disable this ad. Adding bass patterns and upload midi files. View Profile View Forum Posts View Articles Raccoons-Be-Gone, Inc. Boss Dr 880 Demo
Hi. I'm trying to import these midi files into my drum machine (Boss DR-880). I want the drum machine to play only the drums and bass of the midi file. There is a menu where I select which midi channel to import for the drums and the bass. The drums are usually on channel 10, but not always. The bass is usually channel 3 or 4. The major problem is that I have to just keep guessing whuch channel to import until I grt it right. It's a real pain. Is there a program that would allow me to view what is on each individual channel or maybe something that would let me play one channel at a time?
